The Farm
Chickens
Spring, Summer, and Fall our chickens are raised on pasture. They are housed in small groups and moved around the pasture in mobile coops. In the Winter, our chickens are housed together where they forage the remains of that year’s garden. The flock has 250+ happy members consisting of Buff Orpington, Maran, Ameraucana, Pearl White, Speckled Sussex, Australorp, Rhode Island Red, True Whiting Blue, and Ancona chickens.
Bees
Our hives consist of Italian Honey Bees that are native to Indiana. The hives are never treated with chemicals or fumigants as we use an integrated pest management system to deter pests in the hive. Our bees forage in pastures, woods, and other surrounding areas to build their colonies, and ultimately, our pure raw honey!
Garden
Our garden spans over 10,000 square feet and is home to several hundred plants including tomatoes, peppers, squash, and more. We use organic seeds and soil to make the healthiest possible plants. Each seed is hand sown and cared for until the end product - tasty and nutritious produce for you and your family to enjoy!
Pigs
Our pigs live their days on pasture in the sunshine and fresh air. They are rotated daily to fresh ground where they forage on bugs, nuts, grasses, roots, and enjoy their local organic feed. In the winter, our pigs snuggle up in their deep bedding hut and enjoy fresh scraps to give them a diverse diet. Our current breeds are a mix of Yorkshire, Duroc, and Hampshire pigs.
